PLATE CLUB — Privacy Policy

Plate Club is a social fitness app for logging workouts and competing with friends. This policy describes what we collect and how it's used.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address, display name, and sign-in provider (email, Google, or Apple), used to create and secure your account.
• Profile details you provide — gender, bodyweight, and units, used for features like fair strength scoring.
• Fitness data you log — workouts, sets, cardio activities, and bodyweight entries.
• Step counts — read from Apple Health or Android Health Connect only with your permission, used for step leaderboards and goals. You can revoke access at any time in your device settings.
• Social content — group memberships, feed posts, reactions, comments, photos, and messages you send.
• Purchase status — subscription and entitlement status supplied by Apple or Google so Premium access works across your account. We do not receive your payment-card details.
• Diagnostics — app version, crash reports, performance diagnostics, device identifiers used by app infrastructure, and basic usage signals such as last opened, used to operate and improve the service.

How it's used

Your data powers the app's features: leaderboards and progress visible to members of groups you join, feeds, messaging, account security, notifications, and your personal analytics. We do not show ads.

Workout importer

If you choose to use the Premium workout importer, the text or photos you submit are sent securely to Plate Club's server and processed by Google's Gemini or Vertex AI services to convert them into structured workout history.

Where it lives

Data is stored and processed using Google Firebase services, including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Cloud Messaging. Access is enforced by server-side security rules — for example, only members of your groups can see your group activity.

Sharing

Content you post is visible to members of the groups you share it with. We disclose data to service providers only as needed to operate the app, or where required by law.

Your controls

• Delete your account anytime in Profile → Delete Account. Confirming deletion permanently removes your profile, workouts, history, and group memberships.
• Report or block any user or content from within the app.
• Health access is optional and can be revoked in Apple Health or Android Health Connect settings.

Subscriptions

Optional Premium features are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Plate Club receives the subscription status needed to unlock your account, but not your payment-card details.
